ELSPETH BEARD
Welcome to the fifth instalment of the ‘If Not Now Then When?’ podcast. I’m excited to say that for this episode I’ve had the chance to speak with the unbelievably modest powerhouse that is Elspeth Beard. Not only is she an award-winning architect, but most notably she is the first English female to ride her motorcycle solo around the world.
In early 2014 she was contacted out of the blue by an agent in Hollywood who had found an article on the internet and expressed an interest in buying the rights to her story, with a view to making a film about it.
Elspeth’s story is captivating, and her drive is second to none. I urge anyone with the time to tune into this episode and to read her book ‘Lone Rider’. Her travel tales and dedication to her water tower project highlights how much of an extraordinarily strong and driven individual she is. What an inspiration!
