London Design Biennale:

“Established in 2016 by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE, London Design Biennale promotes international collaboration and the global role of design with exhibitions and installations that demonstrate the ambition to create universal solutions to problems which concern us all. London Design Biennale is a global stage for design-led innovation, contemporary creativity, and research. The theme for the 2023 edition was the ‘Global Game: Remapping Collaborations’ which took place 1-25 June.

The Artistic Director for 2023 was the Nieuwe Instituut, the Dutch national museum and institute for architecture, design, and digital culture. Led by its Artistic Director, Aric Chen, the Nieuwe Instituut set a theme that aimed to explore the biennale’s format of national and territorial pavilions by inviting participants to imagine and enact new forms of international cooperation and participation—including with each other—through the medium of design.”

What we know for sure, however, is that in confronting our ever-growing planetary challenges, working together is more critical than ever—and we hope this biennale can act as a testing ground for examining new possibilities for doing so.
